The bands aggressive hard rock sound blends Rock/Pop/Metal and Punk. The group primarily performs original material penned by Jackie, with the occasional cover thrown in. The bands influences include a wide variety of artists such as Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, AFI, System of a Down, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, and My Chemical Romance. They are a professional, hard-working band with a dynamic live show. They are comfortable in any environment, having performed over 400 shows at nightclubs such as The Whisky, The Catalyst, and The Avalon to music festivals, amusement parks, schools, and even a stadium (Candlestick Park in San Francisco). The bands sound, experience, and accomplishments led them to be named one of the top ten high school bands in the country by National Record Day 2010. The band continuously lends itself to charities and fundraisers for organizations such as, Relay for Life, The American Red Cross, Walnut Avenue Women's Shelter, and hosts of others. Performances are July 28 & 29 at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium. The idea of the work is to present stories that the Kitchen Sisters have collected and featured on their radio program and format them into an evening that celebrates girls from all over the world, and the women that they become. |
